Padilla, Gray, Lee win gold medals at Klippan Lady Open in Sweden

KLIPPAN, Sweden � Three U.S. women wrestlers won gold-medal, with victories in the championship finals at the Klippan Lady Open on Sunday.
The U.S. champions were Tatiana Padillia (Colorado Springs, Colo./Sunkist Kids) at 55 kg/121 lbs., Adeline Gray (Colorado Springs,, Colo. (New York AC) at 67 kg/147.5 lbs. and Stephany Lee (Colorado Springs, Colo./Sunkist Kids) at 72 kg/158.5 lbs. All three went unbeaten on Saturday to earn a spot in the finals.
Padilla, a 2008 World bronze medalist, beat Chiho Hamada of Japan in the finals, 0-1, 1-0, 7-5.
Gray, who was fifth in the World last year, pinned Ase Karlsson of Sweden in the second period of their gold-medal finals.
Lee, a two-time University World champion, beat three-time Junior World bronze medalist Emma Weberg of Sweden, 2-1, 4-0 for the title.
Winning a silver medal was C.C. Weber (Goodrich, Mich./Sunkist Kids) at 48 kg/105.5 lbs. Weber, a 2009 Junior World Team member, was beaten in the gold-medal match by 2008 European bronze medalist Iwona Matkowska of Poland, 0-6, 1-2.
Three U.S. wrestlers won bronze medals: Trinity Plessinger (Colorado Springs, Colo./Sunkist Kids) at 55 kg/121 lbs., Helen Maroulis (Rockville, Md./New York AC) at 55 kg/121 lbs. and Leigh Jaynes (Colorado Springs, Colo./New York AC) at 59 kg/130 lbs.
The United States won the medal count with seven medals, including three golds, one silver and three bronzes. Sweden was next with five medals. Poland and Russia had four medals each. Japan had two medals and six nations had one medal.
