Many of the 24 wrestlers attending the Dave Schultz High School Excellence Leadership Camp at the U.S. Olympic Training Center this week got a chance to take in some AAA baseball on Monday.
While the Colorado Springs Sky Sox, the AAA affiliate of the Colorado Rockies, fell 11-6 on Monday night, wrestlers had the opportunity to work the infield before and during the game, get a tour of Security Service Field and throw out the first pitch.
The wrestlers were also recognized on the field before the game to honor their accomplishments as state winners of the 2010 Dave Schultz High School Excellence Award.
Jason Bryant accompanied USA Wrestling staff members Tony Black and Cody Bickley as they coordinated the trip. For a video recap of what happened on Monday, who threw out the first pitch, who dropped a t-shirt and how many workouts the kids are going to need to burn off that ballpark fare.
