USA Wrestling will host a Silver Coaches College alongside the World Team Trials in Council Bluffs, Iowa on June 8-10. This is the second year in a row that a NCEP Coaches College has been hosted in Council Bluffs. The success of last year's program was a factor in holding it there once again.
The Silver Level Coaches College will feature instruction from World-class technicians and experts in the sport of wrestling. This is an opportunity to enhance the knowledge and expertise that it takes to be a successful coach.
"Our sport grows and changes all of the time. Opportunities like this offer a great opportunity to come together and adapt to the ever-changing cycle that coaches deal with," said Cody Bickley, Manager of the National Coaches Education Program.
The Silver Coaches College allows for outstanding growth and development for America's wrestling coaches, plus the opportunity to watch the nation's best wrestlers compete for the chance to wrestle in the 2010 World Championship to be held in Russia. The World Team Trials will be held in the Mid America Center, June 10-12.
This will be limited to the first 40 applicants. The cost of the 2010 Silver College is only $350 and includes all sessions, coaches social, USA Wrestling polo shirt, and a ticket in to the World Team Trials. Coaches arrange their own travel, hotel accommodations and meals.
All Silver College participants must be 2010 USAW coach members, and have completed the Bronze Certification course. All participants will receive credit towards Silver Certification.
Later this year, there will be another NCEP Silver Coaches College held. The details are not finalized at this time, and will be announced when available.
Details regarding clinicians, schedules, and more specific information will be released closer to the event date. For information on the Silver College, contact Cody Bickley, Manager of the National Coaches Education Program, at 719-598-8181 or at cbickley@usawrestling.org.
