NEWS FLASH: Byers takes silver medal at World Championships in Herning, Denmark

HERNING, Denmark - Dremiel Byers of the United States won a silver medal at the Wrestling World Championships at MesseCenter Herning at 120kg/264.5 pounds.
Byers (Colorado Springs, Colo./U.S. Army) fell to Cuba's Mijain Lopez after winning four matches to reach Sunday night's gold-medal final, beating wrestlers from Poland, Hungary and Sweden before losing by fall in the second period to the three-time World Champion and 2008 Olympic Champion.
Byers, 35, was leading Lopez, 27, 1-0 in the second period when the Cuban scored the fall. This is Byers' third world-level medal to go with his 2002 World Championship and 2007 bronze medal.
The three medals matches fellow heavyweight Matt Ghaffari as the only three-time U.S. world medalists in Greco-Roman.
