USA WRESTLING JOB OPPORTUNITY: Director of Program Development

USA Wrestling is seeking a Director of Program Development, a full-time position which reports to the Executive Director. This individual will be responsible to promote and expand USA Wrestling programming, through new or expanded state, regional and national programs, events and activities.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Direct the development of new or expanded programs, events and activities, which lead to an increase in membership and activity at all levels of the organization.

- Work closely with state associations to increase membership and programs in under-developed markets within wrestling, to include but not limited to folkstyle wrestling, inner city programs, leagues, international exchanges, women's wrestling, Grappling and other non-Olympic wrestling styles.

- Strategically partner with non-affiliated wrestling organizations, as well as other companies and organizations, to expand USA Wrestling programs and membership.

- Assist in the promotion and marketing of USA Wrestling activities and programs which pertain to membership and program growth.

- Interface with the national coaches, department directors and managers and key volunteers in the coordination of new or expanded USA Wrestling programs and activities.

- Assist in the expansion of opportunities for women and girls within USA Wrestling programs at all levels.

- Assist in the preparation of the department's annual budget, and manage those programs included in the budget.

- Communicate with the Executive Director about the ongoing developments of these programs and activities, as well as concerns and input from those individuals involved in the management of these projects.

- Assist in the strategic development of programs to recruit, train and retain volunteers within the organization, to include coaches, officials, club leaders and event organizers.

- Assist with the development of a strong alumni organization and presence within USA Wrestling, creating a strategy to encourage past wrestlers to stay involved and support the organization.

- Oversee the creation of an annual wrestling convention which brings all appropriate organizations together to address issues for the good of the sport.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications: Must have an undergraduate college degree. An advanced or graduate degree is not required, but is a plus. Must have a number of years experience in corporate management, with emphasis on finance, program management or related activities. Must have excellent communications and organizational skills. Must possess strong verbal and written skills, and the ability to work successfully with a variety of individuals. Must have proficiency with computers and other business technology. Knowledge and experience within wrestling at many levels is a plus. Ability to travel for extended days is required. The ability to work nights and weekends as needed is also required.
