The U.S. will battle Russia on Wednesday, Nov. 18th at Cornell College's Small Multi-Sport Center in Mount Vernon, Iowa. The competition begins at 7:00 p.m. Central time
Fans can watch a live webcast of this event on Takedownradio.com or Livesportsvideo.com, in cooperation with USA Wrestling.
"I am fired up about this," said Terry Brands, coach for the Hawkeye Wrestling Club and an assistant wrestling coach at the University of Iowa. "We have high expectations for both teams. We look forward to this event."
Providing commentary is the broadcast team of Dan Gable, Mark Ironside and Steven Grace. These experienced announcers have covered Univ. of Iowa wrestling events. Gable was a 1972 Olympic champion, three-time U.S. Olympic team coach, and the record-setting head coach at the Univ. of Iowa.

The U.S. will be very strong with three Olympic team members, all who were stars at the University of Iowa. The lineup features 2008 Olympians Mike Zadick (Solon, Iowa/Gator WC), Doug Schwab (Coralville, Iowa/Gator WC) and Steve Mocco (Coralville, Iowa/New York AC).
Russia is the defending World Team champions in freestyle wrestling, and has been a long-time rival for international supremacy with the United States. Leading its team is Nariman Israpilov at 55 kg/121 lbs., a 2009 European champion and the 2008 Junior World champion. Two of the team members have won silver medals at the Russian National Freestyle Championships, Arsen Mairov at 66 kg/145.5 lbs. and Anzor Urishev at 84 kg/185 lbs.
