1980 Greco-Roman Olympian Brian Gust of Lakeville, Minn., 59, passed away on Sunday, March 8.

Gust qualified for the 1980 Olympic Team at 57 kg/125.5 lbs. The U.S. team did not compete in the 1980 Moscow Olympics due to the U.S. government boycott.

Gust won seven Greco-Roman National titles, and competed on two U.S. World Teams (1974 in Katowice, Poland and 1977 in Goteburg, Sweden).

Brian Bernard Gust
(June 27, 1949 - March 8, 2009)

Gust, Brian B. age 59, of Lakeville, passed away March 8, 2009 at his home. Preceded in death by his father, Warren. Survived by his loving wife, Rae; children, Meegan (Bear) Saucedo, Luke (Abby), Trevor (Jessi) and Joel Gust; grandchildren, Makenna, Riley and Titus Saucedo; also by mother, Josette; siblings, Leon (Mary Jane), Dan (Patricia), Glen, Perry (Alice) and Doug (Andrea) Gust; many nieces and nephews. Funeral service 11 AM Friday at First Baptist Church of Rosemount, with visitation Thursday from 4-8 PM at the White Funeral Home, 20134 Kenwood Trail, and one hour prior to service at church. Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred.
