UPDATED - Illinois beats Missouri, 40-31, to take Schoolboy National Freestyle Duals

INDIANAPOLIS, IND. - It was a great weekend for wrestling in the state of Illinois.
In addition to winning both styles at the Cadet National Duals in Oklahoma City, the Illinois Schoolboy National freestyle team claimed the title at the Schoolboy National Duals in Indianapolis.
Illinois won the Schoolboy freestyle title with a 40-31 win over Missouri in the finals. Illinois put the match away by winning four of five matches from 144 pounds through 190 pounds.
Taking wins during that streak were Joe Cortese (144), Dan Rowlands (152), Sage Hecox (160) and Edgar Ruano (190). After Ruano's win, the match was clinched and Missouri took the final bouts by forfeit.
Hecox scored a pin, and Team Illinois had four technical falls in the finals bout by Rowlands, plus Brian Rossi (70), Bryce Brill (98), and Michael Sepke (105).
The only blemish on the Illinois effort this week came in the Schoolboy Greco-Roman finals, when Team Illinois lost to New Jersey, 40-33.
New Jersey claimed third with a 37-24 win over Minnesota 1. Fifth place went to Oklahoma 1, which stopped Pennsylvania Red, 40-36. Wisconsin claimed seventh with a 47-29 win over Michigan Red.
