Greco-Roman seeds for 2009 U.S. Nationals released

2008 Olympians Spenser Mango (St. Louis, Mo./New York AC) at 55 kg/121 lbs. and
Dremiel Byers (Colorado Springs, Colo./U.S. Army) at 120 kg/264.5 lbs. headline the list of No. 1 seeds for the 2009 U.S. Nationals in Greco-Roman wrestling.
The Senior-level portion of the U.S. Nationals event is scheduled for April 9-11 at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The top seven finishers in each weight class will qualify for the U.S. World Team Trials on May 30-31 in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
A qualifying tournament for the U.S. Nationals will be held on Thursday, April 9 in the two Greco-Roman weight classes with 20 or more wrestlers entered: 66 kg/145.5 lbs. and 74 kg/163 lbs. The top eight finishers in the qualifying tournament at these weights will join the top eight wrestlers in the final day of the U.S. Nationals on Friday, April 10.
No qualifying tournament will be held in the other five weight classes, since there are fewer than 20 wrestlers entered in those divisions.
