Fulp-Allen, Pirozkhov reach finals of Klippan Ladies Open

KLIPPAN, SWEDEN - Two U.S. wrestlers have qualified for the gold-medal finals of the Klippan Ladies Open on Saturday, Sara Fulp-Allen (Colorado Springs, Colo./New York AC) and Elena Pirozkhov (Colorado Springs, Colo./Gator WC).
Fulp-Allen won four matches at 48 kg/105.5 lbs. on Saturday, including a victory of Sarianne Savola of Finland in the semifinals. She will face Sofia Mattson of Sweden in the gold-medal match Sunday.
Pirozkhov won both of her bouts on Saturday at 63 kg/138.75 lbs., including a win over veteran star Liubov Volosova of Russia in the semifinals. She will battle Monika Rogien of Poland in the gold medal match.
At 55 kg/121 lbs, Cherea Pascua (Colorado Springs, Colo./Gator WC) will be competing in a bronze-medal match on Sunday. She won her first two bouts, before dropping a decision to Anna Zwirydowska of Poland in the semifinals. Her opponent has yet to be determined.
Three other U.S. wrestlers are still alive in the wrestleback rounds, after the opponent who defeated them qualified for the gold-medal finals: Rachel Bernardes (Colorado Springs, Colo./U.S. Air Force) at 48 kg/105.5 lbs., Stefanie Shaw (Waterford, Conn./New York AC) at 67 kg/147.5 lbs. and Jenna Pavlik (Marquette, Mich./New York AC) at 72 kg/158.5 lbs.
