Among the exciting festivities at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials for Wrestling & Judo is the popular Vendor Village.
During the three days of the event, Vendor Village will have ongoing events for spectators and participants to enjoy, as well as review exhibits from a number of vendors.
Each day there will be a preview and analysis of finals match-ups by a number of wrestling analysts. Each analyst will discuss the strengths and weaknesses of competing finalists and predict winners. This will take place prior to the evening sessions.
Analysts include Scott Casber, founder of Takedown Radio, Steve Foster, Takedown Radio commentator, Kyle Klingman, associate director of the Dan Gable International Wrestling Institute and Museum, and national television commentator Van Stokes.
On Friday, June 13, World and Olympic champion John Smith will discuss the preparation of wrestlers academically, emotionally and physically at all levels of the sport. Smith is a two-time freestyle Olympic champion and the head coach at national power Oklahoma State.
The 1980 U.S. Olympic Wrestling Team, which did not compete due to the government boycott of the Moscow Olympic Games, will be available for autographs on Saturday afternoon. USA Wrestling is hosting a reunion for the team during the weekend. This the chance for fans to meet them in person.
Sunday will feature two different events. Ken Chertow, a 1988 Olympian and three-time NCAA All-American will present a techniques session and a discussion about the promotion of wrestling on Sunday afternoon. Additionally, the movie Veritas, about courageous Jon Trenge from Lehigh University, will be featured.
