Second Round: Christofhe Guenot (France) dec. Dantzler, 1-1, 3-3
First Period
At about :30 Guenot appears to step out of bounds, but no points are awarded. No scoring in the first minute. Neither wrestler is able to score from the top position so both wrestlers earn one point. The 1-1 tie goes to Guenot because he was able to defend Dantzler in the final :30 seconds and scored the last point.
Second Period
No scoring in the first minute. Dantzler scores two-points at 1:18. Guenot was defending Dantzler's lift and was exposed when Dantzler drove into him. Guenot scores a three-point reverse lift at 1:35. Dantzler scores a one-point takedown at 1:55 to tie the score 3-3. Guenot wins the period on a tie-breaker since he scored a higher scoring hold than Dantzler (a three-point vs. a two-point and a one-point).
First Round: Dantzler dec.Volodimir Shatskykh, 3-1, 2-1 (Ukraine)
First Period
No scoring in the first minute. Dantzler escapes at 1:14 from the bottom and earns one-point when Shatskykh fails to score from the top position. Dantzler fights for a lock when he takes the top position and is able to score a two-point exposure at 1:35. Shatskykh was trying to defend a lift when Dantzler hipped into him for the score. After the exposure the two wrestlers ended up in neutral near the edge of the mat and Shatskykh scored one-point at 1:40 when Dantzler stepped out of bounds. Dantzler was able to hold off Shatskykh in the closing seconds and secured the period win 3-1.
Second Period
No scoring in the first minute. Dantzler fights for a lock when he moves up the body and secures a front head/body lock and scores a two-point turn at 1:07. Shatskykh fights for a lock in the top position but Dantzler continues to control the hands. After a few warnings to open up, the referee calls Dantzler for a caution and one-point at 1:59. Dantzler defends on the restart and wins the period and the match 2-1.
84 kg - Brad Vering (Colorado Springs, Colo./New York AC)
Gold Medal Match: Aleksey Mishin (Russia) dec. Vering, 4-0, 4-0
First Period
No scoring in the first minute. Mishin scores on a three-point reverse body lock at 1:18 to take a 3-0 lead. Mishin earns one-point when he defends Vering from the bottom position. Mishin wins the period 4-0.

Quarterfinal Round: Vering dec. Saman Tahmasebi (Iran), 2-1, 0-3, 2-1
First Period
Vering scores one-point on a high dive at :12. Tahmasebi earns one-point at the 1:30 mark after he defends Vering from the bottom position. Vering scores the final and decisive point when he defends Tahmasebi from the bottom position, taking the period 2-1.

Vering starts the second period aggressively attacking Kinezvic and gets behind him, scoring a gut wrench from his feet for three-points at :18 and follows with a two-point gut wrench at :30. Vering ends the period and the match with a one-point slide-by takedown to the body at :56.
