STILLWATER, Okla. -- The National Wrestling Hall of Fame & Museum will host an All-Star Reunion in conjunction with the 42nd NWCA All-Star Classic presented by the United States Marine Corps at McArthur Court on the campus of the University of Oregon in Eugene on Nov. 19.
All former All-Stars and Distinguished Members are invited to join this year's participants for a Reunion & Social at the Hilton Eugene following the 7 p.m. dual.
"We will mail invitations to those former All-Star participants for whom we can find an address," said Lee Roy Smith, Executive Director of the NWHOF&M. "These individuals are invited to attend a post match social we are hosting at the Hilton Eugene Hotel immediately following the dual."
"Some of these participants are very likely to go on to distinguished college and post college careers and become future Hall of Fame inductees," said Jim Keen, Sr. Chairman of the Board of Governors. "It is particularly relevant this year for the Hall of Fame to support this event because of the decision to discontinue the wrestling program at the University of Oregon following the 2008 season. With a great fan turnout for this dual meet we hope to demonstrate the level of interest in the sport in the northwest and that university administrators should reconsider reinstating its wrestling program beyond the 2008 season. The northwest region of our country continues to produce a high level of grass root participation and college bound student-athletes."
Smith said in addition to the alumni reunion, the NWHOF&M will release its third annual All-Star Trivia Challenge. The 25 question challenge was compiled by Hall of Fame and Museum historian Jay Hammond to "test your knowledge" of the heritage of wrestling in Oregon and Washington.

Winners of the Trivia Challenge will be announced during the dual meet at McArthur Court. Prizes for the winner(s) will include a copy of the 2007 NWCA All Star Classic program (autographed by participating wrestlers and coaches), a NWHOF lapel pin and hat, and a copy of the book The History of Collegiate Wrestling signed by the book's author, Jay Hammond. Winners need not be present to win "Wrestling historian Jay Hammond has put together a very challenging trivia questionnaire with an Oregon twist that will test anyone's knowledge of the history of the sport in that state and region," Smith said. "Those who complete the most number of questions correctly will win."
For participating contestants to be eligible for prizes, the All Star Classic Trivia questionnaire must be received by post, fax, or email to the NWHOF, 405 West Hall of Fame Avenue, Stillwater, OK 74075, Fax: 405-377-5243, E-mail: info@wrestlinghalloffame.org before 5 p.m. CST on Nov. 14.
Information on the Trivia Challenge can be found on the NWHOF website at www.wrestlinghalloffame.org or by phone at 405-377-5243.
