Utah Valley State College Accepting Nominations and Applications for Head Wrestling Coach

Utah Valley State College (UVSC), located in Orem, Utah, is now accepting nominations and applications for the position of head wrestling coach. Both can be done online at www.uvsc.edu/athletics, the athletics home page for UVSC. The deadline for applications is Jan. 24, 2003. In October, UVSC announced the addition a wrestling program to their athletics department. The program will begin competition in the 2003-04 season and will compete at the NCAA Division I level. UVSC is the first college to petition a move from the junior college level to NCAA Division I status. Beginning with the 2002-03 calendar year, the school will be considered as a Division I institution. Due to NCAA sanctions, athletic teams at UVSC will not be allowed to compete in Division I championship events for seven years.
