NYKOBING FALSTER, Denmark - U.S. Greco-Roman wrestler Max Black won a bronze medal at 60 kg, the top U.S. performance at the respected Thor Masters on Saturday.

Black, a U.S. Senior Nationals runner-up and two-time U20 World Team member, opened his day with a 1-1 win over Adam Silverin of Sweden, his second straight win of the event. In the next pool match, he was defeated by Ettiene Kinsinger of Germany, 11-0.

This placed Black in a bronze medal match, where he powered past Mark Lioitto of Sweden by an 8-0 technical fall.

Three other U.S. wrestlers won matches on Saturday, although none were able to reach a medal match: Peyton Jacobson (87 kg), Rhett Peak (60 kg) and 2022 Senior World Team member Braxton Amos (97 kg)

Peak placed sixth in his weight class, while Jacobson finished ninth, the other two Americans to finish in the top 10 of their weight class.

The tournament is conducted under different bracketing rules than a normal UWW international tournament. This is a double-elimination competition, with either one pool or two pools.
