Olympians Cox, Molinaro join teammates Burroughs, Snyder and Dlagnev in July UWW World freestyle rankings

Five members of the U.S. Olympic Team were featured in July’s UWW World men’s freestyle wrestling which were posted today. They were among eight American wrestlers in the rankings.
2012 Olympic champion and three-time World champion Jordan Burroughs (Lincoln, Neb./Sunkist Kids/Nebraska RTC) maintained the No. 1 ranking at 74 kg/163 lbs. Burroughs recently won a gold medal at the German Grand Prix.
2015 World champion Kyle Snyder (Lincoln, Neb./Sunkist Kids/Nebraska RTC) remained No. 3 at 97 kg/213 lbs. Snyder went 4-0 to win a gold medal at the World Cup in Los Angeles, Calif. in June, and added a bronze medal at the German Grand Prix last weekend.
The other 2016 Olympian who remained in the rankings is two-time Olympian and two-time World bronze medalist Tervel Dlagnev (Columbus, Ohio/Sunkist Kids/Ohio RTC) who is No. 13 at 125 kg/275 lbs. Dlagnev did not compete last month.
Two members of the 2016 U.S. Olympic Team in men’s freestyle joined the rankings for the first time this year, J’den Cox (Columbia, Mo./Missouri Wrestling Foundation), who is ranked No. 10 at 86 kg/189 lbs. and Frank Molinaro (State College, Pa./Nittany Lion WC), who checks in at No. 18 at 65 kg/143 lbs.
Cox has been very successful since winning the U.S. Olympic Team Trials in April. He won a gold medal at the 1st World Olympic Qualifier in Mongolia. Cox won his match against Iran at the Beat the Streets dual meet in New York City. He had a strong 3-1 record at the Freestyle World Cup in Los Angeles. Cox claimed a bronze medal at the German Grand Prix last weekend.
Molinaro placed third at the 2nd World Olympic Qualifier in Turkey. He went a perfect 4-0 to win a gold medal at the World Cup in Los Angeles. He also added a silver medal at the German Grand Prix.
2015 World bronze medalist James Green (Lincoln, Neb./Titan Mercury WC/Nebraska RTC) moved up to No. 4 at 70 kg/154 lbs., which is an non-Olympic weight. Green went a perfect 4-0 at the Freestyle World Cup to win the individual gold medal. He followed with a bronze medal at the Ziolkowski International in Poland in July.
Two other Americans also remained in the rankings, Coleman Scott (Chapel Hill, N.C./Sunkist Kids), who is No. 17 at 61 kg/134 lbs. and Aaron Pico (Whittier, Calif./Titan Mercury WC), who is No. 19 at 70 kg/154 lbs. Neither has seen recent action.
