Nkosi Moody (Country Club Hills, Ill./Harvey Twisters) has been named TheMat.com Wrestler of the Week for April 3-9.
Each week, TheMat.com will select an Athlete of the Week, based upon performance within wrestling for that week. The selection committee will consider any level of wrestling, from youth programs through the Senior level.
Moody, a 2011 Junior Triple Crown winner, captured a title at USA Wrestling's ASICS Folkstyle Nationals on March 31 in Cedar Falls, Iowa.
Moody started his quest to become USA Wrestling's first two-time Junior Triple Crown winner by winning the title at 106. Moody edged Skyler Petry of Minnesota 7-5 in overtime in the finals.
Moody would need to win Junior Nationals titles in Greco-Roman and freestyle this July in Fargo, N.D., to complete his second straight Triple Crown.
Note: To nominate a wrestler for TheMat.com Wrestler of the Week, send the athlete's name, accomplishments for the week and career accomplishments to Craig Sesker at csesker@usawrestling.org
