Tatiana Padilla named TheMat.com Wrestler of the Week for Feb. 22-28

Tatiana Padilla (Colorado Springs, Colo./Sunkist Kids) has been named TheMat.com Wrestler of the Week for Feb. 22-28.
Each week, TheMat.com will select an Athlete of the Week, based upon performance within wrestling for that week. The selection committee will consider any level of wrestling, from youth programs through the Senior level.
Padilla won a gold medal at 55 kg/121 lbs., the top performance among U.S. wrestlers at the Grand Prix of Tourcoing on Feb. 26 in Tourcoing, France.
Padilla defeated Brittany Laverdure of Canada in the gold-medal finals, 3-0, 3-0. She also won a big semifinal match over 2010 Asian champion Senlian Yang of China.
Padilla, a two-time World bronze medalist in women's freestyle wrestling, competed at a high level throughout the event.
