Each week, TheMat.com will select an Athlete of the Week, based upon performance within wrestling for that week. The selection committee will consider any level of wrestling, from youth programs through the Senior level.

Hasseman won his second international freestyle tournament in as many weeks at 84 kg/185 lbs. after capturing a gold medal at the Dan Kolov International on Feb. 15 in Varna, Bulgaria.

Hasseman beat fellow American Eric Luedke in the finals for the second straight week. Hasseman won the Dave Schultz Memorial International on Feb. 8 in Colorado Springs, Colo.

Before his three-period win over Luedke in the finals in Bulgaria, Hasseman scored wins over Georgi Sredkov of Bulgaria, Omer Faruk Kalendar of Turkey and Serdar Boke of Turkey.
