U23 Nationals, U20 World Team Trials Return to Geneva, Ohio

Bo Bassett, TMWC, Celebrates after a day-four win at the 2026 U.S. Open in Las Vegas
For the fourth consecutive year, USA Wrestling is set to host the U23 Nationals and U20 World Team Trials at SPIRE Academy in Geneva, Ohio. The 2026 event will feature U23 men’s Greco-Roman and men’s freestyle, as well as the U20 men’s freestyle division. Competition is scheduled for May 29-31.
Action begins at 10 a.m. ET on Friday, May 29, with the U23 Greco-Roman and U20 men’s freestyle World Team Trials competitions. The U23 men’s freestyle brackets will begin on Saturday, May 30, and conclude on Sunday, May 31.
The 2026 U20 World Championships are set for August 16-23 in Bratislava, Slovakia. Athletes competing in the U20 World Team Trials must be born between 2006 and 2009. Athletes competing in the U23 Nationals, which will be held in conjunction with the U20 World Team Trials, must be born between 2003 and 2008 to be eligible.
The 2026 U23 Nationals & U20 World Team Trials features a full-challenge tournament and a best-of-three championship series. No athletes in the U23 division will be sitting in the finals.
The 10 athletes who won titles in the U20 men’s freestyle division at the 2026 U.S. Open will sit in the best-of-three finals and await the winner of the challenge bracket. The U20 Greco-Roman World team was established based on the champions from the 2026 U.S. Open.
