Amit Elor (Walnut Creek, Calif./New York City RTC/Titan Mercury WC) has been named USA Wrestling Athlete of the Week.
After a year away from competition, Elor dominated the 72 kg bracket at the 2026 Senior World Team Trials Challenge Tournament. She secured three consecutive bonus wins to take the tournament title and earn a spot at 2026 Final X, presented by Kerberos Capital Management.
Returning just three months after giving birth to her first child, Elor notched a 10-0 technical fall in the quarterfinals of the World Team Trials. Then in the semifinals, she pinned current U.S. National Team member Kaylynn Albrecht at 4:37 into the contest.
She secured her place at Final X with another pin in the championship round, this time against 2026 Pan American Championships gold medalist Precious Wieser.
Throughout her decorated career, Elor is a three-time Olympic and World champion and has also captured six age-group World titles.
Elor’s gold medal at the 2024 Olympics made her the youngest Olympic champion in U.S. history, at age 20.
Elor will now appear at Final X on Friday, June 19, at Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.
