Greco-Roman preliminary pools finalized on Friday, championship brackets set in 14U, 16U and Junior divisions

WESTFIELD, Indiana – Preliminary pools wrapped up Friday on the opening day of Greco-Roman competition at the 2026 Women’s National Duals in Westfield, Indiana, setting the stage for championship runs in the 14U, 16U and Junior divisions.
The top eight teams in each division advanced into Gold/Silver brackets, where they will battle for team titles when competition resumes Saturday. Final placements will be determined with the conclusion of all color pools.
In the 14U division, Pennsylvania Blue opened Gold/Silver bracket contention with a 53-25 victory over top-seeded Washington. Colorado secured a 54-29 win over Pennsylvania Red and will now take on Pennsylvania Blue in round two. In Pool B action, California defeated Illinois, 51-26, while Minnesota claimed a 53-29 win over Texas. Washington and Pennsylvania Red kicked off the second round of the championship bracket before Friday’s competition concluded, with Washington pulling away for a 59-21 victory.
Oklahoma, Missouri, Pennsylvania Blue and California Gold all emerged unbeaten after the first round of the 16U Greco-Roman Gold/Silver bracket. Oklahoma outlasted Illinois, 36-30, after rattling off wins in the opening five matches to build an early cushion. Missouri never trailed against Kansas, earning seven bonus-point victories to open the dual on the way to a 53-25 win. In one of the most dramatic finishes of the day, Charli Rea sealed Pennsylvania Blue’s 39-35 upset of top-seeded Washington with a pin in the dual finale, earning five team points to complete the comeback. After dropping the opening bout, California Gold responded with six straight victories and closed out its dual against Colorado with a 47-23 result.
In the Junior division, three of the top four overall seeds earned wins in the opening round of the Gold/Silver bracket. Top-seeded Ohio Blue turned in a dominant performance, defeating Pennsylvania Blue, 60-16, despite dropping two of the first three matches. No. 2 seed Colorado dismantled Kansas, 59-14, fueled by back-to-back pins from Lilly Lundy (95 pounds) and Justics Gutierrez (100 pounds) to open the dual.
California Gold never trailed in its Junior matchup against Minnesota, closing out a competitive dual with a 41-32 win on the strength of seven consecutive victories, beginning with a technical fall from 105-pound representative Kiana Lien. Washington produced the lone upset in the championship bracket, also winning by a 41-32 margin over Texas after taking eight of the first 10 matches.
