FARMINGTON, Utah – The state of Pennsylvania swept championships at the 2026 USA Wrestling 16U National Duals after Pennsylvania Blue won the men’s freestyle crown on Saturday afternoon at Western Sports Park.
On Thursday, Pennsylvania also won the Greco-Roman title after going unbeaten in the discipline.
Pennsylvania Blue nearly replicated the unbeaten mark in men’s freestyle but dropped a 49-27 contest to Illinois in the final Pool B match in the Gold/Silver Bracket.
After winning the pool, Pennsylvania Blue took on Ohio, which came into the dual unbeaten, in the first-place match. Pennsylvania rolled to the national title, winning 12 of the 17 bouts en route to a 47-24 victory. Of the 12 wins, six came via technical fall.
Pennsylvania Blue had nine wrestlers go undefeated and collect at least five victories to earn All-Tournament Team accolades, which included: RJ Shay, Leonidas Murillo, Arav Panadey, Jack Stonebraker, Flynn Arnestad, Alex Marchetti, Asher Bacon, Layden Acevedo and John Montgomery.
The final placement matches in the Gold/Silver bracket featured California Gold rallying to beat Minnesota Red, 37-32, for third place. Wisconsin beat Iowa Red, 41-33, in the fifth-place match, and Illinois placed seventh with a 49-24 win over New Jersey.
