Detrick Bombarger joins USA Wrestling as national events production manager

USA Wrestling is excited to announce the hiring of Detrick Bombarger as its national events production manager. With nearly a decade of experience in live-event production, including NCAA Division I athletics and wrestling-specific presentations, he is well-positioned to elevate the experience of competitors and fans at USA Wrestling’s national events.

Bombarger joins USA Wrestling from Oklahoma State University Athletics, where he advanced from assistant director of marketing and fan experience (2021) to associate director (2022) and, most recently, director of marketing and fan engagement (2024). In these roles, he oversaw department-wide marketing initiatives, managed logistical planning for major-event giveaways and led event activations for football, baseball and the Cowboys’ nationally renowned wrestling program.

He also spent the past three years as a director at Canon Bomb Event Marketing & Consulting, where he managed in-venue promotions for USA Wrestling, the National Wrestling Hall of Fame, the Big 12 Conference and the NCAA. His experience creating event-specific marketing plans and generating revenue growth through ticket sales will be a remarkable aid in his role with USA Wrestling.

Earlier in his career, Bombarger served as director of marketing and fan engagement at Oral Roberts University, acting as the primary marketing contact for nine NCAA Division I programs. There, he boosted student attendance across all sports by launching a new student section and rewards program. He also hosted and produced watch parties for more than 5,000 fans during the men’s basketball team’s historic 2020 postseason run.

Bombarger holds two degrees: a bachelor’s in sport management from Oklahoma State University and a Master of Business Administration from California State University. His education and professional experience will support the execution of technical productions, run-of-show management, site logistics and venue safety at USA Wrestling national events. Bombarger’s hire underscores USA Wrestling’s continued commitment to elevating the competition experience for athletes, fans and partners across the country.
