Composto, Wasilewski Receive Draws for Ulaanbaatar Open

ULAANBAATAR, Mongolia – The U.S. duo of CJ Composto and Cross Wasilewski received their opening draws in the men’s freestyle division at the 2026 Ulaanbaatar Open, which is the third United World Wrestling Ranking Series event of the season.

Three-time NCAA All-American Composto, who won the 2025 U23 Pan American title, opens the tournament at 65 kg against Zeneemeder Byambasuren of Mongolia. Byambasuren is coming off a fifth-place finish at the 2026 Asian Championships.

At 70 kg, 2026 NCAA All-American Wasilewski earned a bye into the quarterfinals. He will face the winner of India’s Abhimanyou and Mongolia’s Tulga Tumur Ochir. Tumur Ochir is a two-time World medalist and a two-time Olympian. Abhimanyou captured gold at the Asian Championships this past April.

Men’s freestyle action in Mongolia begins on Saturday with the 74 kg, 86 kg and 92 kg brackets being contested. Composto and Wasilewski will be in action on Sunday, starting at 10:30 a.m. local time (Saturday at 10:30 p.m. U.S. Eastern Time).

The first two days of the Ranking Series event featured Greco-Roman competition and the start of the women’s freestyle division.
