USA Wrestling’s busy summer season of national championships concludes with the 2026 U.S. Beach Nationals, which return to historic Huntington Beach, Calif., on Saturday, August 15.

Each year, USA Wrestling hosts two major national-level Beach Championships, one on the East Coast and the other on the West Coast. The annual U.S. Beach National Championships alternate between the Coasts each season. This year, the 2026 U.S. Beach National Championships are set for Huntington Beach. The event was in Carolina Beach, N.C. last year.

One of the best things about the U.S. Beach Nationals is that competition is held at a variety of age groups, from 8U up through Masters. There is high-level competition for both men and women in these age groups. Champions in Huntington Beach are recognized as the 2026 national champions. There is still time to register for this year’s Beach Nationals.

The specific age divisions for the U.S. Beach Nationals are: 8U, 10U, 12U, 14U, 16U, Junior, Masters A, Masters B, Masters C, Masters D, Masters E, Masters F, Senior Men Beach, Senior Women Beach, U17 Men’s Beach, U17 Women’s Beach, U20 Men’s Beach, U20 Women’s Beach.

Please note there is an optional registration and weigh-in for all divisions (except U17, U20 and Senior) on Friday night from 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. at Zack’s By The Beach. All others who did not weigh in on Friday can register and weigh in on Saturday morning from 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. on Huntington Beach.

Register for 2026 U.S. Beach Nationals

The U.S. Beach Nationals is an important qualifying event for U.S. international teams on the Senior level, as well as a number of age group levels.

Senior athletes compete in the UWW Senior Beach World Series which is held in five locations each year. There are Age-Group Beach World Championships events at the U17 and U20 levels. There are also Pan American Beach Championships at multiple age levels (U15, U17, U20, U23, Senior). Placement at this year’s U.S. Nationals is a major criterion for selection of future teams at these levels. The United States is considered a strong nation in international beach wrestling.

2026 Beach Wrestling Team Procedures

A medical certificate is required to compete in Masters’ C, D, E, & F and must be turned in during weigh-ins. International athletes (including Canadians) are eligible for all age divisions excluding the U15, U17, U20 and Senior age divisions for both men and women.

Beach wrestling is a competitive and fun way for wrestlers to improve and challenge themselves. Beach wrestling is growing across the nation and around the world. For the first time, Beach Wrestling will be the only international style contested at the Youth Olympic Games in Dakar, Senegal, November 7-8.

If you have not tried Beach Wrestling yet, this is a perfect chance to expand your wrestling experience and technical abilities. For those who have wrestled on the Beach, you already know why you should compete again.
