U.S. receives Greco-Roman draw at 2026 U20 World Championships in Slovakia

BRATISLAVA, Slovakia – United World Wrestling has released the Greco-Roman brackets for the 2026 U20 World Championships being held at A4 Studio in Bratislava, Slovakia.
Two returning U20 World Team members—Arvin Khosravy at 82 kg and Leister Bowling IV at 77 kg—lead the U.S. Greco-Roman team. Both sit in the round-of-16 and await the winner of a preliminary round match. On paper, the likely opponent for each is a continental medalist—2026 U20 Asian bronze medalist Bekmurod Rustamov of Uzbekistan for Khosravy, and current U20 European champion Samvel Terteryan of Armenia for Bowling.
Three members of the U.S. squad will face a past World medalist in bout one. 2023 U17 World Team member Ezekiel Witt opens against 2025 U23 World bronze medalist and current U23 Asian champion Khojiakbar Kuchkarov of Uzbekistan at 55 kg. 2024 U17 World Team member Trayvn Boger takes on 2023 U17 World bronze medalist and current U20 Asian champion Amirhossein Abdevali of Iran first at 130 kg. In his first Worlds appearance, Aidan Squier faces 2025 Senior World bronze medalist and three-time age-group World medalist Taizo Yoshida of Japan at 87 kg.
Another notable draw comes at 72 kg, with Eli Esguerra taking on 2026 U20 Pan American champion Jorge Gomez Garcia of Mexico in the round-of-32.
Also entered for the U.S. are Manuel Saldate at 60 kg, Nicholas Sorrow at 63 kg, Amryn Nutter at 67 kg and Cittadino Tuttle at 97 kg.
The Greco-Roman portion of the U20 World Championships runs August 16-19. The first-round opponent for each U.S. entrant and a full Greco-Roman schedule are available below.
