Matilda Hruby (Brighton, Colo./Brighton WC) has been named USA Wrestling Athlete of the Week.

Hruby pinned her way to the Girls National High School Recruiting Showcase title at 155 pounds.

Over her four matches, three ended with pins in the first minute of the contest. In the final, Hruby pinned Julia Araujo 1:43 into the match to secure the title. In total, Hruby needed just 3:35 of mat time to win the championship.

Hruby’s four pins ranked second in the Girls High School Showcase field and third in the overall U.S. Open Championships field.

Hruby has had a strong start to 2026, where she won the U17 Pan American Team Trials. She then went on to win gold in freestyle and beach at the U17 Pan American Championships for Team USA. Hruby also finished as the runner-up at the U17 World Team Trials in Spokane, Washington, earlier this month.
