FARGO, N.D. – The Accelerade Cadet National Greco-Roman Championships have completed its second day, and the athletes who have earned All-American status have been determined in most of the weight classes at the FargoDome Sunday.Championship finalists that have already been determined include returning Cadet National Greco-Roman champions Jesse Thielke of Wisconsin (112), Dylan Ness of Minnesota (130) and Andrew Campalatano of New Jersey (189). Another star from New Jersey, 2008 FILA Cadet national champion Mark Grey at 98 pounds is also unbeaten, and has clinched a spot in the finals. Also in the gold-medal match is Dylon Thompson of Colorado, who won the 84A pool, Rossi Bruno of Florida, who won the 112B pool and Bo Schlosser of Illinois, who won the 135A pool. After two days, seven returning champions are still alive in their quest for another Cadet National Greco-Roman title. Joining Campalatano, Ness and Thielke as returning 2007 Cadet National champions who are undefeated and remain eligible to repeat as champions are Hayden Zillmer of Minnesota (91) and Evan Craig of Pennsylvania (285). Craig has won five matches, all by pin. Zillmer, who was a Triple Crown winner last year, still has to complete his pool competition on Monday morning. Returning champion Valyen Rauser of Montana has a loss at 98 pounds, but still can win his pool, as four wrestlers remain in the hunt. Rauser lost to Tanner Moon of Alabama on Saturday, but has won the rest of his matches. Moon dropped a match this evening to Mitch Brown of Utah, who was eliminated in the next round. Rauser still has a chance to still make it to the finals as the pool is completed Monday morning. 2007 Cadet National runner-up Carson Kuhn of Utah remains unbeaten at 105 pounds with nine victories during the tournament. There are seven wrestlers who are seeking Cadet Triple Crowns who are undefeated in Greco-Roman and remain eligible for this honor. Included are Thielke and Ness, plus Cory Clark of Iowa (91), Drew Lexvold of Minnesota (125), Taylor Massa of Michigan (140) and Austin Blythe of Iowa (285).
