Dantzler fights for a lock when he takes the top position and is able to score a two-point exposure at 1:35. Shatskykh was trying to defend a lift when Dantzler hipped into him for the score. After the exposure the two wrestlers ended up in neutral near the edge of the mat and Shatskykh scored one-point at 1:40 when Dantzler stepped out of bounds. Dantlzer was able to hold off Shatskykh in the closing seconds and secured the period win 3-1.
2	2-1	Dantzler	No scoring in the first minute. Dantzler fights for a lock when he moves up the body and secures a front head/body lock and scores a two-point turn at 1:07. Shatskykh fights for a lock in the top position but Dantzler continues to control the hands. After a few warnings to open up, the referee calls Dantzler for a caution and one-point at 1:59. Dantzler defends on the restart and wins the period and the match 2-1.
