Lindsey Durlacher Named to Northwestern's Wrestling Staff



EVANSTON, Ill. -- Lindsey Charles Durlacher, a 1997 University of Illinois graduate, was named assistant wrestling coach at Northwestern today by Wildcat head coach Tim Cysewski. Durlacher joins Cysewski after spending one year as an assistant coach at the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md. At Navy, Durlacher helped the Midshipmen to an 11-4 dual record. The year before joining the Naval Academy staff, he was the assistant coach at Northern Illinois in DeKalb, Ill. He went to Northern from an assistant's job at Illinois where he aided in coaching, weight training and recruiting. Durlacher earned a Sports Management degree from the University of Illinois. As an athlete at Illinois, he was a four-time NCAA national qualifier and two-time World Maccibiah Champ. He was the 1997 NCAA runner-up and finished the 1996 NCAA tournament in fourth place. After graduation he completed an internship with the intramural sports program at Arizona State University. Durlacher is a local wrestling product, growing up in Buffalo Grove, Ill. He attended Buffalo Grove High School and was an Illinois state champion in 1992 with a 44-0-1 record.
