Former UNC Wrestler Joe Galli Featured in Fortune Magazine



Chapel Hill, North Carolina Joe Galli, a former UNC wrestler and current CEO of VerticalNet, is featured in the September 4 issue of Fortune magazine. The article, "CEO in Motion", follows Galli during his first week as head of VerticalNet, a developer of online business-to-business stores and marketplaces. Galli moved to VerticalNet after a nine-month stint as president and chief operating officer of Amazon.com. Prior to working at Amazon.com, Galli spent 19 years at Black & Decker where he was president of Black & Deckeršs Worldwide Power Tools and Accessories. Galli wrestled for Tar Heel wrestling coach Bill Lam, and won an ACC championship at 142 lbs. in 1980, his senior year at UNC.
