Funeral arrangements made for 1972 Olympian Jimmy Carr

Funeral arrangements have been made for 1972 Olympian James "Jimmy" Carr.

The visitation and funeral are scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday at the First Born Apostolic Faith Church Of God, 1221 East 19th Street in Erie, Pa.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. The funeral is scheduled to be held on Thursday at 11 a.m.

Carr passed away last Thursday at age 58.

He remains the youngest Olympian in U.S. wrestling history. He made the U.S. Olympic Team as a 17-year-old in 1972 in freestyle wrestling at 114.5 pounds. Carr made the 1971 U.S. World Team at age 16.

Carr was a Pennsylvania state champion and an NCAA All-American for Kentucky.
