Joe Heskett and Brett Wheelan to go ‘On the Mat’ this week



Joe Heskett and Brett Wheelan will go “On the Mat” this Wednesday, April 10.

“On the Mat" is a presentation of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame Dan Gable Museum. The show can be heard live on the Internet at www.kcnzam.com or locally in Northeast Iowa each Wednesday from 5:00 to 6:00 PM Central on AM 1650, The Fan.

Heskett is the current head wrestling coach at Army. He was an NCAA champion for Iowa State in 2002. Heskett is being inducted into the Glen Brand Wrestling Hall of Fame of Iowa on Sunday, June 9 in Waterloo.

Wheelan is the head wrestling coach at West Waterloo High School. He coached his team an 11th place finish at the 2013 Iowa High School State Wrestling Tournament, including an individual state runner-up and a state champion. It was the first time West Waterloo High School put two wrestlers in the finals in 23 years.
