NEW YORK, N.Y. – The gold-medal finals of the 2012 New York Athletic Club International has been set in Greco-Roman and women’s freestyle on Friday.

In Greco-Roman, two-time Olympian Spenser Mango (Colorado Springs, Colo./New York AC) will face 2012 University World champion Max Nowry (Wheeling, Ill./New York AC/USOEC) at 55 kg/121 lbs. It is a rematch of the 2012 U.S. Olympic Team Trials finals series, won by Mango. Both are past University World champions.

There are three other all-U.S. finals in Greco-Roman:
• At 74 kg/163 lbs. – Andrew Bisek (Minnesota Storm) vs. Jake Fisher (Minnesota Storm)
• At 96 kg/211.5 lbs. – Caylor Williams (YES Wrestling) vs. Marcus Finau (New York AC/USOEC)
• 120 kg/264.5 lbs. – Robbie Smith (New York AC) vs. Eric Nye (U.S. Army)

In women’s freestyle, there are three weight classes which have a true finals. Of the six athletes in the gold-medal round, only one is an American, Carlene Sluberski (Fredonia, N.Y./Brock) at 55 kg/121 lbs. Sluberski, who now attends college in Canada, will face Yuki Ikegame of Japan in the final match.

2012 World bronze medalist Alyssa Lampe (Colorado Springs, Colo./Sunkist Kids) is in the finals of a three-athlete roundrobin against Ai Nakaya of Japan.

2012 World champion Adeline Gray (Colorado Springs, Colo./New York AC) is in a three-athlete round-robin at 72 kg/158.5 lbs. with a 1-1 record, beating Molly Bouchard of Canada but losing to Hiroe Suzuki of Japan. She could still win the gold but only if Bouchard beats Suzuki.

Finals will be held at 5:00 p.m. Eastern time, and will be streamed live on TheMat.tv.
