Ellis Coleman named TheMat.com Wrestler of the Week for Oct. 25-31



Ellis Coleman (Colorado Springs, Colo./New York AC) has been named TheMat.com Wrestler of the Week for Oct. 25-31.

Each week, TheMat.com will select an Athlete of the Week, based upon performance within wrestling for that week. The selection committee will consider any level of wrestling, from youth programs through the Senior level.

Coleman won a Greco-Roman championship at 60 kg/132 lbs. at the Sunkist Kids International Open on Saturday in Mesa, Arizona.

Coleman, 20, a two-time Junior World bronze medalist, downed two-time World Team member Joe Betterman 2-0, 4-0 in the finals on Saturday night at Skyline High School. Coleman was named Outstanding Wrestler in Greco-Roman.

Coleman outscored his four opponents by a combined score of 26-0 on Saturday.
