Chance Marsteller named TheMat.com Wrestler of the Week for June 14-20

Chance Marsteller (New Park, Pa./Team Pennsylvania) has been named TheMat.com Wrestler of the Week for June 14-20.

Each week, TheMat.com will select an Athlete of the Week, based upon performance within wrestling for that week. The selection committee will consider any level of wrestling, from youth programs through the Senior level.

Marsteller went a combined 18-0 in Greco-Roman and freestyle competition at 152 pounds during the Cadet National Duals this past week in Daytona Beach, Fla.

Marsteller went 9-0 in Greco-Roman and 9-0 in freestyle, making the all-tournament team in both styles.

In his 18 wins, Marsteller won seven matches by technical fall and five by fall. He only allowed points in one match out of 18.

Marsteller won Cadet Nationals in freestyle and placed fourth in Greco-Roman in 2010.

He won a Pennsylvania state high school title at 152 pounds this past season as a freshman for Kennard-Dale. He compiled a 42-0 record.
