Adamson named as TheMat.com Wrestler of the Week of July 3-9

ADAMSON NAMED AS THEMAT.COM WRESTLER OF THE WEEK OF JULY 3-9

TheMat.com has named its National Wrestlers of the Week for July 3-9.

The winner of TheMat.com Youth Wrestler of the Week is Riley Adamson of Albuquerque, N.M.

TheMat.com will announce Wrestlers of the Week in a number of age group levels, which will be posted on the web page and promoted to the national media.

Youth Wrestler of the Week: Riley Adamson (Albuquerque, N.M.)

Adamson was one of 12 wrestlers to claim USA Wrestling's Kids Triple Crown in 2000, capturing Kids National titles in folkstyle, freestyle and Greco-Roman in the same year. Adamson became only the second wrestler to ever win the USA Wrestling Kids Triple Crown twice in a career, joining Jon Dahl of Minnesota as a two-time winner. He is the first wrestler to win the Kids Triple Crown two years in a row, as he also claimed the honor in 1999. Adamson completed the Kids Triple Crown by winning the 65-pound Midget division (9-10 years old) in both styles at the USA Wrestling Kids Freestyle and Greco-Roman National Championships in Waterloo, Iowa, July 5-8. Adamson scored a 10-0 technical fall over Robert Ulmet of Skithfield, Va. in the Greco-Roman finals. He pinned Cody Beeson of Moreno Valley, Calif. in 25 seconds in the freestyle finals. Adamson won his folkstyle title at the USA Wrestling Kids Folkstyle National Championships in Topeka, Kansas in April.
