TheMat.com to webcast live the finals of the Grappling World Championships, Dec. 12-13



TheMat.com will webcast live the finals of the FILA Grappling World Championships, set for Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Saturday, Dec. 12 and Sunday, Dec. 13.

This is the second World Grappling Championships conducted by FILA, the international wrestling federation.

Handling the broadcast duties on the webcast will be veteran wrestling announcer Jason Bryant, along with numerous special guests from the event. Bryant works as USA Wrestling's Coordinator of Grassroots and Social Media, and handles many of the live broadcasts on TheMat.com.

The show will feature the medal matches from each day of competition, including the gold-medal finals.

On Saturday, the No-Gi competition will be held for both men and women. The final session, which includes repechage and medal matches, is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. Eastern time.

On Sunday, the Gi competition as well as the No-Gi Open division will be held for both men and women. The final session, which includes repechage and medal matches, is scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m. Eastern time.

In addition, the USA vs. Brazil judo dual meet will also be webcast on Sunday, starting at 1:00 p.m. Eastern time.

The United States is the defending World Champion in both No-Gi and Gi Grappling. Top nations expected to challenge for team honors include world power Brazil, plus Canada and France.
