Wrestler Mike Ellsworth to participate when the USOC officially opens its Athletes Services Center P

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The United States Olympic Committee will officially open the doors of the new Athletes Services Center on April 24 at 2:00 p.m. with a ceremony and ribbon cutting to celebrate the occasion. The new Athlete Services Center is presented by Drake Beam Morin, the Official Supplier of Career Transition Services to the USOC. Acting USOC Chief Executive Officer Scott Blackmun and Drake Beam Morin Chairman Craig Sawin will be on hand to open the Center along with wrestling athlete Mike Ellsworth, who routinely utilizes the Center's services. The Athlete Services Center will offer a variety of programs for athletes and coaches including: * Peak Performance Workshops - focused on identifying career skills and interests, developing tools and techniques like resumes and interview skills, and assisting athletes in preparing for the transition from sport to their next full-time career. * Career Seminars - specific topics on resume development, interviewing, job search strategies, entrepreneurship and networking, long-term career planning, and transition from sport to career. * Career Planning Resources ? search and reference tools for career planning and job searching. * One-on-one Career Consultation ? customized career coaching focused on each individual's unique goals and objectives. "We truly appreciate the suppliership and career transition services provided by Drake Beam Morin," said Blackmun. "Partnering with a leading outplacement firm significantly helps our athletes to maximize opportunities for both work and sporting success." "Drake Beam Morin's suppliership is focused on helping athletes to be as successful in life as they are in Olympic sports," said Sawin. "Through the workshops and consultations provided at the Athlete Services Center, Olympians will have the opportunity to access tools and coaching to help them achieve both their career and personal goals." The Center will also provide a place for athletes to go during downtime to access computer workstations, obtain information about USOC services and programs, or relax with fellow athletes over a magazine or game. The Athlete Services Division exists to support the USOC's vision statement of preparing America's athletes to represent the United States in the ongoing pursuit and achievement of excellence in the Olympic Games and in life. Services are delivered in a holistic approach to not only improve athletic endeavors but also provide instruments for success in careers, the community, and as individuals. The Athlete Services Division predominately offers athlete summits, Athlete Services Centers, an on-site presence in Utah, career consultation workshops and coaching resources such as coaching summits and workshops.
