U.S. University freestyle team to enter Ziolkowski International in Warsaw, Poland, Aug. 12-14

A team of U.S. University-aged freestyle wrestlers will train and compete in Poland in August.

The University delegation arrived in Poland August 3rd to start their training camp with the Polish National Team along with three to four other teams. The camp will be held in the Polish Olympic Center, Spala, outside of Warsaw.

The team will compete at the Ziolkowski International in Warsaw, Poland, Aug. 12-14, which is a Senior-level event with a number of top nations entered.

Six of the ten athletes traveling to Poland won titles at the ASICS University National Championships in Akron, Ohio during April. Zach Sanders at 55kg, Reece Humphrey at 60kg, Mario Mason at 66kg, Lloyd Rogers at 74kg, Clayton Foster at 96kg, and Zach Rey at 120kg all placed first in the University National Championships.

Zach Giesen at 84kg, who received second place at the University Nationals, will also be traveling to Poland.

Also joining the USA delegation will be nationally ranked Senior wrestlers Jon Reader at 74kg, Mike Tamillow at 96kg, and Ryan Tomei at 120kg.

Special thanks go to 2008 U.S. Olympic Team leader Steve Silver of Forney, Texas. This trip would not have been possible without his financial support and commitment to the U.S. freestyle program.

The U.S. Women's World Team will also be in Poland competing during this time.
