Montana's Jade Rauser named TheMat.com Wrestler of the Week for July 28-Aug. 3

Jade Rauser (Townsend, Montana/Team Montana) has been named TheMat.com Wrestler of the Week for July 28-Aug. 3.

Each week, TheMat.com will select an Athlete of the Week, based upon performance within wrestling for that week. The selection committee will consider any level of wrestling, from youth programs through the Senior level.

Rauser became the first wrestler in USA Wrestling history to win a Junior Triple Crown after he captured back-to-back Junior Nationals Greco-Roman and freestyle titles late last month in Fargo, N.D.

Rauser won titles in the 105-pound class in Fargo. He completed the first leg of the Triple Crown by winning Folkstyle Nationals in April in Cedar Falls, Iowa.

Rauser is halfway to becoming a four-time state high school champion after winning Montana state titles as a freshman and sophomore.

Rauser's twin brother, Valyen, placed second in both styles at 112 pounds in Fargo.

Note: To nominate a wrestler for TheMat.com Wrestler of the Week, send the athlete's name, accomplishments for the week and career accomplishments to Craig Sesker at csesker@usawrestling.org
