Todd Meneely (Omaha, Neb./University of Nebraska at Omaha) has been named TheMat.com Wrestler of the Week for Jan. 13-19.

Each week, TheMat.com will select an Athlete of the Week, based upon performance within wrestling for that week. The selection committee will consider any level of wrestling, from youth programs through the Senior level.

Meneely, a senior for Nebraska-Omaha, went 4-0 to claim the 157-pound title at the Glen Brand Open on Jan. 17 in Omaha. Meneely won his first three matches by recording one fall and two major decisions. He beat Iowa State's Nate Carr Jr., a past junior-college national champion, 3-2 in the finals.

Meneely, a two-time NCAA Division II champion at 149 pounds, was named Outstanding Wrestler in leading the Mavericks to the National Duals team title on Jan. 11 in Cedar Falls, Iowa.

Meneely is ranked No. 1 at 157 for a Nebraska-Omaha team that is ranked No. 1 nationally in Division II.

Note: To nominate a wrestler for TheMat.com Wrestler of the Week, send the athlete's name, accomplishments for the week and career accomplishments to Craig Sesker at csesker@usawrestling.org
