Date change for Big 12 Wrestling championship broadcast

Big 12 Wrestling championship to air on FOX Sports Chicago and Direct TV; Broadcast dates changed to March 13 and March 14 USA Sports Broadcasting has announced a change in the published broadcast dates for the Big 12 Wrestling Championships, which is part of this year's "College Series of Wrestling." FOX Sports Chicago will air this competition on Tuesday, March 13 at 7:30 p.m. Central time, and again on Wednesday, March 14 at 12:00 noon Central time. The event was originally scheduled to air at an earlier date. This event can also be viewed by subscribers of Direct TV and the Dish Network. The Big 12 Championships were originally held in Stillwater, Okla., March 2-3. This competition was a qualifying event for the NCAA Div. I Championships, and featured national powers Oklahoma State, Iowa State, Oklahoma, Nebraska and Missouri. Many of the the athletes from this presitigous event are expected to battle for All-American honors at the upcoming NCAA Div. I Championships in Iowa City, Iowa, March 15-17. The broadcast team for this event included veteran play-by-play announcer Larry Nugent, 1996 Olympic gold medalist Kendall Cross, and wrestling commentator and former Iowa State head coach Jim Gibbons. This event is part of the "College Series of Wrestling," a joint effort between the U.S. Olympic Committee, the National Collegiate Athletic Association and USA Wrestling. The shows are funded through a USOC grant program with the Big 12 and Big Ten Conferences.
