Wrestling Heads To Big Ten Championships Spartans look to improve on last year's fourth-place finish. UP NEXT FOR THE SPARTANS: The 13th-ranked Spartans head to the Big Ten Championships, held March 3-4 on the campus of Northwestern University. Seeding The Tournament: Here are the seeds for MSU wrestlers for the 2001 Big Ten Championships. Wgt. Seed 125 lbs - Chris Williams 6th 133 lbs - Pat McNamara 2nd 141 lbs - Mike Castillo 5th 149 lbs - Karl Nadolsky 6th 157 lbs - Gray Maynard 3rd 165 lbs - Cory Posey -- 174 lbs - Nate Mesyn -- 184 lbs - John Wechter -- 197 lbs - Nik Fekete 3rd Hwt. - Mike Keenan -- Last Year At Big Ten's: The Spartans finished fourth with 87.5 points at the 2000 Big Ten Championships. Seven Spartans placed in the top seven, including Gray Maynard (3rd at 157), Karl Nadolsky (4th at 149) and Mike Castillo (7th at 141). Former Spartan Nick Muzashvili won the Big Ten title at 197 pounds. McNamara - CVII: Senior Pat McNamara (133) recorded his 107th career victory against 12th-ranked Witt Durden on Oklahoma on Feb. 23, moving him into a tie for eighth place on the MSU all-time career wins list. McNamara has 26 wins so far on the season. He rattled off seven straight victories until his loss to No. 1 Eric Juergens of Iowa on Feb. 11. His target return date is the Big Ten Championships on March 3-4, where he is seeded No. 3. Sageman Scores Three: Sophomore Charlie Sageman counted one of two wins against Oklahoma on Feb. 23. Sageman, listed at 149 pounds, upped his season record to 16-12 overall, 5-6 in duals, with a 2-0 decision over the Sooners' Tony Moore. MSU All-American Pat McNamara scored the other decision for MSU.
