With the victory, the OSU grappler became the first Buckeye since the 2002-03 season to win a title at the Las Vegas invite. En route to the semifinals, Pucillo recorded two major decisions and a fall (1:38) before defeating Missouri's No. 4-ranked Raymond Jordan in the semifinals, 3-1. In the championship bout, Pucillo beat No. 3 Tyrel Todd of Michigan, 12-6.
