Hofstra's Fleszar, Ruder's Harris named ECWA Wrestlers of the Week

LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ--Roman Fleszar of Hofstra University, and Michael Harris of Rider University, have been named the East Coast Wrestling Association Wrestlers of the Week for all competition February 13-19. Fleszar, a senior 133 from Newton, NJ (Kittatinny Regional), won a pair of ECWA dual meets last week, and has now won 19 consecutive ECWA regular season duals, dating back to the 1997-98 season. Harris, a sophomore 141 from Livingston, NJ (Livingston), won a pair of ECWA bouts last week, including a 6-3 decision over the two-time defending ECWA champion, Jason DeBruin of Hofstra. Harris also defeated Greg Ruggiero of Sacred Heart by a 17-8 major decision, and is now 3-1 in the ECWA (11-4 overall, 5-1 duals). Fleszar, ranked sixth in the nation by Intermat and seventh by Amateur Wrestling News, won by tech fall and by a major decision in victories over Rider and Drexel, improving to 5-0 in the ECWA (15-4 overall, 9-3 duals).
