Adam Hall named TheMat.com Wrestler of the Week for July 11-17

Adam Hall (Bonners Ferry, Idaho/Team Idaho) has been named TheMat.com Wrestler of the Week for the week of July 11-17.

Each week, TheMat.com will select an Athlete of the Week, based upon performance within wrestling for that week. The selection committee will consider any level of wrestling, from youth programs through the Senior level. The announcement will be made each week on Wednesday.

Hall's performance was rated excellent by USA Wrestling national coaches in both freestyle and Greco-Roman during the 2012 Future Olympian Camp on July 9-16 at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo.

Hall, a Boise State recruit, plans to compete at 152 pounds in both styles during the ASICS/Vaughan Junior Nationals on July 22-29 in Fargo, N.D. Hall placed second in freestyle last year, dropping a 7-5 decision to Utah's Cyler Sanderson in the 140-pound finals in Fargo.

The three-time Idaho state champion was named Outstanding Wrestler this year at both the NHSCA High School Senior Nationals in Pittsburgh and the Western Junior Greco-Roman Regional in Las Vegas.

Hall, who carried a 3.81 GPA in high school, was a first team ASICS All-American this year. He is ranked No. 1 nationally at 152 pounds by Wrestling International Newsmagazine.

Hall was one of five Regional winners and one of five National finalists for the Dave Schultz High School Excellence Award for 2006.

Note: To nominate a wrestler for TheMat.com Wrestler of the Week, send the athlete's name, accomplishments for the week and career accomplishments to Craig Sesker at csesker@usawrestling.org
