The USA Wrestling Southeast Junior Regionals have moved this year from New Olreans, La. to Brandon, Fla. The event will take place at Brandon High School and is hosted by the Florida Amateur Wrestling Association (FAWA), Mar. 31-Apr. 2.
"Due to some hotel and venue conflicts in New Orleans, we were unable to host it at that venue and the Florida Amateur Wrestling Association stepped up to the plate," said Pete Isais, Director of National Events for USA Wrestling. "We're looking for a large turnout and we're excited to have this tournament in a place with a strong tradition in wrestling."
Brandon High School is located at 1101 Victoria Street in Brandon, Fla. The school's wrestling team has long been known for their success under Coach Russ Cozart. The team holds the national record of 423 consecutive dual meet wins, more than any high school wrestling team in the country.
The host hotel for the Southeast Junior Regional is the Days Inn, located at 9942 Adamo Drive in Tampa, Fla. The second hotel for the event is the Brandon Motor Lodge, located at 915 Brandon Boulevard in Brandon, Fla.
Junior Greco-Roman wrestlers will have registration at the Days Inn from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. on Mar. 31. Junior freestyle wrestlers will register at Brandon High School from 11 a.m. - 12 p.m.

To wrestle in any of the Junior Regionals, participants must be born on or after Sept. 1, 1986 and be currently enrolled in grades 9-12. The weights for the Junior Regionals are: 98 lbs., 105.5 lbs., 112 lbs., 119 lbs., 125 lbs., 130 lbs., 135 lbs., 140 lbs., 145 lbs., 152 lbs., 160 lbs., 171 lbs., 189 lbs., 215 lbs. and 275 lbs.
Wrestlers placing in the top three of their weight class at a Junior Regional will qualify for their state team at the ASICS/Vaughan Junior National Championships in Fargo, N.D. that takes place July 22-29.
