Note: To nominate a wrestler for TheMat.com Wrestler of the Week, send the athlete's name, accomplishments for the week and career accomplishments to Gary Abbott at gabbott@usawrestling.org

C.B Dolloway (Mt. Gilead, Ohio/Arizona State) has been named TheMat.com Wrestler of the Week for the week of January 3-9.

Each week, TheMat.com will select an Athlete of the Week, based upon performance within wrestling for that week. The selection committee will consider any level of wrestling, from youth programs through the Senior level. The announcement will be made each week on Wednesday.

Dolloway, a senior who competes at 184 pounds, won three dual meets during the week, including victories over two ranked and highly respected opponents. Dolloway was not eligible to compete during the first semester, and started his season with these three big wins.

In a dual meet against Minnesota on January 3, Dolloway defeated No. 11 Roger Kish by a 3-0 score. Dolloway's win helped the Sun Devils to a solid team performance, losing to the No. 2-ranked Gophers by a 23-19 margin.

The Sun Devils had two dual meets on January 8, defeating Cal-Davis 25-18 and losing to Iowa State 26-23. Dolloway won both of his matches that day. Against Iowa State, Dolloway pinned No. 6 Kurt Backes in 1:06. Against Cal-Davis, Dolloway scored an 8-2 victory over Tyler Bernacchi.

Dolloway has received a No. 8 national ranking in the most recent NWCA/Intermat rankings, published Jan. 10.

As a junior, he was a Pac-10 runnerup in 2005, with a record of 29-9 in his first season with Arizona State. Dolloway competed in the NCAA Championships, and finished with a 1-2 record and did not place.

He competed for two years at Colby Community College, where he was a 2003 NJCAA National champion and placed third in the 2004 NJCAA Nationals. Dolloway attended Northmor High School in Ohio, where he was a 2002 Ohio state champion and a four-time state qualifier.

Dolloway is majoring in business information systems.
